‘Anora’ Criterion Collection Edition: Bonus Content, Pre-Order Deals

Anora took home five Oscars — including for best picture, best director and writing for filmmaker Sean Baker and best actress for star Mikey Madison — and movie lovers are eager to watch the record-breaking Cannes favorite. Though the dark romantic comedy is now streaming online, movie fans will enjoy deleted scenes, commentary and more exclusive bonus content with Criterion Collection‘s Anora release.

Criterion’s Anora is available for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes & Noble before it drops on Tuesday, April 29, with the digital and Blu-ray editions on sale for 30 percent off. The award-winning Neon title stars Madison as Anora, a foul-mouthed Brooklyn stripper and sex worker who has a whirlwind marriage with Ivan (Mark Eydelshteyn), the son of a Russian oligarch.

Available on disc on DVD and Blu-ray and in digital 4K UHD, film’s Criterion version comes in a new 4K digital master with surround sound and audio commentaries by Baker, producers Alex Coco and Samantha Quan, cinemographer Drew Daniels and stars Madison, Eydelshteyn, Yura Borisov (who was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor), Karren Karagulian and Vache Tovmasyan.

Both the disc and digital versions will also feature bonus content such as deleted scenes, a making-of documentary, a Q&A between Madison and actor-stripper Lindsey Normington, the Cannes Film Festival press conference and new interviews with Madison and Baker. The film will include essays by film critic Dennis Lim and author Kier-La Janisse.

Written and directed by Sean Baker, Anora follows Anora “Ani” Mikheeva (Mikey Madison), a stripper and sex worker from Brooklyn who finds herself in a whirlwind love affair with the son of a wealthy Russian oligarch named Ivan (Mark Eydelshteyn). When Ivan’s parents find out about their relationship, they come to the United States to put an end to their marriage — by any means necessary.
